Ten plant-based food blogs we actually cook from
Ten sites we go back to, and what each one is actually good for.

Every one of these has fed us at some point. They are not interchangeable, so rather than saying each has something for everyone, here is what each one is actually best at.
Bookmark the two or three that match how you cook.
- Oh She Glows
Angela Liddon. Comfort-leaning plant-based cooking with recipes that have been tested to death. Start here if you want things that work the first time.
- Minimalist Baker
Dana Shultz. Everything is ten ingredients or fewer, one bowl, or thirty minutes. The site we open on a weeknight.
- The Plant-Based Wok
Hannah Che, who also wrote The Vegan Chinese Kitchen. Chinese cooking done properly rather than adapted. The best writing on this list.
- Vegan Richa
Richa Hingle. Indian cooking plus a large body of one-pot and instant-pot recipes. Her spice guidance alone is worth the visit.
- The First Mess
Laura Wright, a Canadian chef cooking seasonally. Go here when you have a vegetable and no plan.
- Vegan Yack Attack
Jackie Sobon. Approachable, well photographed, and strong on air fryer and one-pan cooking.
- The Full Helping
Gena Hamshaw, a registered dietitian. Whole-food recipes with the nutrition actually thought through rather than asserted.
- The Vegan 8
Brandi Doming. Eight ingredients or fewer, much of it oil-free and gluten-free. The best baking on this list.
- Veganosity
Linda and Alex Meyer, a mother and daughter. Hearty, familiar food, and good at plant-based versions of dishes people already know.
- Deliciously Ella
Ella Mills, based in the UK, so expect metric measurements. Simple everyday recipes and a large breakfast section.
How to use a recipe blog without losing an evening
Read the whole method before you start, including the notes underneath, because that is where the substitutions and the warnings live. Check the ingredient list against your cupboard before you commit. And pick your site by the night you are having, since a Minimalist Baker recipe and a Plant-Based Wok recipe ask very different things of a Tuesday.
